Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of New York Life retained the services of AKF to upgrade existing constant air volume (CAV) field erected air handling systems and increase the capacity of those systems to meet the new occupancy requirements for a 21st century office building.
AKF updated old iconic building with new state-of-the-art systems. Variable air volume (VAV) fan rooms were installed, two per floor, with outdoor air delivered from a central fan system controlled by CAV boxes in each fan room. The new exhaust system utilized the return/spill fan for the central fan system. A water side economizer system was also installed, consisting of plate and frame heat exchanger and ancillary equipment, while replacing the existing cooling towers.
