Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center - Relocation/New Research Center Design (New York, NY)
Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center (ADARC) is one of the world’s largest private research facilities dedicated to the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. ADARC’s new location at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) includes a biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratory, a highly-controlled environment requiring compliance with strict regulations from the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control. Laboratories were designed for HIV/AIDS research, with flexibility to adapt to scientific advancements and needs.

Millersville University - Net Zero Energy Welcome Center (Millersville, PA)
Furthering Millersville University’s goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2040, the Campus’s new welcome center is a showcase of sustainability for students, staff, and visitors. The first Zero Energy Certified building in Pennsylvania, Lombardo Welcome Center has actually been regularly achieving net positive energy. At times, the building generates more than 200% of its annual energy usage, thus making it one of the top five most positive energy buildings in the country. The extra energy generated is shared with other buildings on campus.

Education First - New Mixed-use Student Residential Tower (Cambridge, MA)
Founded in Sweden in 1965, Education First (EF) has a rich history of providing international education experiences to students worldwide, with over 612 locations in 114 countries. Through our partnership with EF, AKF has had the opportunity to watch the Cambridge campus grow and transform with the design of their new, 301,044 SF student residence building. The new building, a central hub for all students on the EF campus, includes 500 beds and key amenity spaces, such as on-floor laundry, student services spaces, dining facilities, and a 24-hour student kitchen.

Central Park Tower - Luxury Condominium Residential Tower (New York, NY)
Central Park Tower, located on Manhattan’s premier 57th Street corridor, will become the Western Hemisphere’s tallest residential tower, reaching 1,550 feet. Designed by the world-renowned firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture with interiors by Rottet Studio, Central Park Tower will redefine the famed NYC skyline. The building, developed by Extell Development Company, will include ultra-luxury condominium residences, dynamic amenity spaces, and a 285,000 SF, 7-story Nordstrom flagship department store.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - Cell Manipulation Core Facility (Boston, MA)
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI)’s Cell Manipulation Core Facility (CMCF) operation was expanded through renovation of a portion of the 11th floor and the full 12th floor of the existing Smith Building to meet increased volume and demand according to 6-year growth projections through 2020. The expansion space accommodates Stem Cell Therapy (SCT) and Novel Cell Therapy (NCT) labs, which are designed to meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 7 or ISO 8 clean room classifications.

The Wharf - Parcel 8 Mixed use Building (Washington, D.C.)
A new mixed-use development located on the National Harbor along the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., The Wharf’s vision is to bring local residents, neighbors, and visitors together and re-establish the city as a waterfront community. The Wharf includes 13 parcels and is being developed through two phases. Phase I is a mixed-use building of approximately 386,000 GSF and 13 stories, comprised of multi-family rentals, a boutique hotel, and large retail program. The tower is approximately 150 feet in height and constructed on sub-grade Phase 1 program

AKF’s 3D scanning capabilities enable conditions for all project areas to be accurately captured by our in-house specialists in a matter of a few hours. Scanning opportunities can include architectural layouts, above ceiling conditions, central plants, equipment rooms, service tunnels, roofs, and exteriors. These conditions can be delivered via complementary viewer as a registered point cloud with accompanying HDR imagery for use by all those involved in a project.
